At Casepoint, we work diligently and constantly to deliver cutting-edge eDiscovery solutions to our clients. So, it was both gratifying and humbling when we learned recently we had won the “eDiscovery Innovation of The Year” award in the third annual LegalTech Breakthrough Awards program. The award recognizes Casepoint’s end-to-end platform expansions over the past year. Casepoint also won LegalTech Breakthrough’s “Predictive Analytics Solution of the Year” award in 2021.

LegalTech Breakthrough is a leading independent market intelligence organization that evaluates and recognizes standout legal technology companies, products, and services around the globe. The Annual LegalTech Breakthrough Awards program conducts the industry’s most comprehensive analysis and evaluation of the top technology companies, solutions, and products in the legal technology industry today. This year’s program attracted more than 1,450 nominations from over a dozen countries.

“It’s an honor to win another LegalTech Breakthrough award, and it’s a testament to our commitment to continuous innovation,” said Vipul Rajpara, Casepoint’s cofounder and COO. “We work constantly on our powerful legal discovery platform to reduce the cost, time, and complexity of eDiscovery while delivering legal victories and, ultimately, resilience to our global customers. Our goal is to exceed customer expectations by delivering powerful technology that enables them to be more competitive in today’s demanding legal and business environment.”

Standout Solutions

Casepoint offers a comprehensive end-to-end solution built from the ground up without any bolted-on third-party applications. The awards committee noted that the extensibility of Casepoint’s platform, custom API development, and workflows set the company apart from other eDiscovery system providers.

The platform’s newest features are a huge boon for lawyers and legal departments, said Bryan Vaughn, managing director of the LegalTech Breakthrough Awards. Vaughn noted the awards committee was particularly impressed by the Casepoint platform’s utility in managing serial litigation more efficiently and cost-effectively.

“Many organizations, most notably consumer product and public utility companies, are engaged in a constant stream of litigation that is substantially similar,” Vaughn said. “Casepoint’s new features vastly improve the simultaneous management of data across multiple matters. These innovations allow lawyers to work more efficiently and effectively — eliminating time spent re-collecting, reprocessing, and reevaluating the same documents multiple times.”

While we’re proud to have earned recognition from LegalTech Breakthrough for our product, we won’t be resting on our laurels. We need to keep innovating to achieve our mission, which is to transform the entire legal discovery process. Rather than simply selling our platform and providing infrequent tech support when problems arise, our team works closely with each Casepoint client throughout the deployment process. This allows us to gain a firsthand understanding of our clients’ unique challenges, pain points, and business goals, and ensures they’ll be up and running quickly with a solution configured to their eDiscovery needs.

It’s this high-touch approach — the deep listening to clients as they describe to us what they need — that has guided us in expanding Casepoint’s legal hold, cloud data collection, intelligent data processing, and collaboration capabilities. This year’s new platform enhancements allow our customers to efficiently manage and monitor the entire discovery process, from legal hold to review and production. The expanded solution eliminates the need to log in and out of other applications or manually transfer files as data is preserved, collected, processed, analyzed, and staged for potential review.

Our critical partnership process with clients has also informed the development of Case Summary, our new application that enables litigators and legal teams to develop case strategies efficiently, collaboratively, and with more precision, as they organize evidence from concurrent matters. Within Casepoint, Case Summary users can instantly establish connections between specific data points within individual files or documents to build a coherent body of evidence.

Source of Inspiration

Customers have always spurred some of our best ideas. Clients have repeatedly asked for solutions to the time-consuming and costly reconstruction of work product when dealing with other, similar matters — so we designed Portable Predictive AI Models, which lets users leverage artificial intelligence and past work product across multiple matters. Legal teams can use this feature to import predictive models from one workspace to another, using existing work product such as AI tags to identify common themes or patterns across similar matters and data sets without having to build a new model from scratch for each new matter.

As the technology used in the legal sphere evolves, we strive to continually respond to those changes with new capabilities for our clients. Casepoint recently became an official Slack Technology Partner, enabling direct collections from Slack for customers using our powerful eDiscovery and legal hold applications. Continuous innovation is the hallmark of our customer-centered approach; as clients’ technology toolboxes grow, we’re adding new cloud connectors to our arsenal, including Microsoft 365, Box Enterprise, and more.

Such nimble responses and commitment to best practices have also helped Casepoint secure a substantial U.S. government contract to provide SaaS eDiscovery technology and support to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). We are the first cloud-based legal hold and eDiscovery platform to achieve U.S. Department of Defense IL5 Authority to Operate (ATO) — one of the most stringent data security requirements in the world.

Winning the LegalTech Breakthrough award for our platform expansions is thrilling, but the best validation for Casepoint is our clients’ satisfaction. When customers use our solutions to establish more efficient legal discovery workflows across multiple matters, reduce their risks and costs, save time, and upskill their teams, they’re winning. And so are we.
