On October 27, our Casepoint customers gathered in Washington, D.C., for Casepoint Connect Government Summit 2026. For the first time, our government customer community came together in one room, and the energy matched the moment. Just blocks from the White House, we brought government professionals together to explore practical approaches to modernization and the future of AI in government operations.

Here are some of the key takeaways and announcements from the summit.

Government Customers Share Their Modernization Experiences

Government Agencies Are Already Seeing Results From AI

During the customer panel, “Vision to Reality: Real Examples of Modernizing eDiscovery, FOIA, and Information Management,” representatives from federal civilian and defense agencies shared how they're putting new technologies to work.

The examples were striking. Panelists described narrowing a population of 100,000 documents to just 600 in four hours and summarizing a 20-page PDF in 20 seconds. They also discussed testing agentic AI at the front end of FOIA workflows.

These aren’t projections. They’re results agencies are seeing today, in workflows where volume has always meant long hours of manual review.

Successful AI Adoption Starts With a Clear Purpose

Alongside those results, customer panelists discussed the challenges of introducing AI into established government processes.

One consistent piece of advice was to define the problem before selecting the technology. Understanding what an agency wants to accomplish helps determine the necessary governance and controls, along with how success should be measured.

Panelists also emphasized the importance of training and building trust among employees who may be accustomed to existing processes. Starting with a focused pilot gives teams an opportunity to learn how the technology works and demonstrate its value before expanding its use.

The message for agencies still deciding where to start: pick one problem, prove the value, and build from there.

As Agentic AI Advances, Human Judgment Remains Essential

The future of AI was another major focus of the summit, beginning with a keynote presentation from Thomas Koulopoulos, Chairman and founder of Delphi Group.

Koulopoulos explored the potential of agentic and recursive AI, including how increasingly sophisticated systems could reshape government workflows. He also addressed the importance of thoughtful guardrails as organizations adopt technologies capable of performing more complex tasks.

AI Experts Explore the Future of Government Workflows

Later in the day, Naren Ramakrishnan, director of Virginia Tech's Sanghani Center for AI and Data Analytics, examined what it takes to build secure, reliable, and memory-aware AI systems for government applications.

His presentation included a memorable reminder about the role of people in AI:

“Not only human in the loop, but human IS the loop.”

The takeaway from both: AI is getting more capable fast, and the agencies that succeed will be the ones that keep people firmly in charge of it.

What Casepoint Announced at Connect 2026

Casepoint CEO Paul Colangelo opened the summit with an executive update on the company's vision for transforming government operations through unified intelligence.

He also unveiled AI Investigator Agent, the newest addition to the Casepoint IQ™ suite, which Casepoint announced publicly that same day.

Available within Casepoint eDiscovery, AI Investigator Agent is designed to help investigators work through large volumes of information and identify evidence that supports or refutes allegations.

The agent isolates potentially relevant material and extracts key facts with citations to their sources. It also helps investigators organize evidence around investigative themes and develop findings reports within the same workspace.

Customers got to see the new capability in action during summit sessions and through hands-on demonstrations in the Learning Lab.

Beyond the announcement, product roadmap sessions gave attendees an early look at upcoming enhancements and Casepoint's broader AI vision.

Hands-On Learning and Customer Recognition

Four specialized tracks covered FOIA and Compliance, Legal and eDiscovery, Audit and Investigations, and mLINQS Relocation. Sessions included product roadmap previews and practical guidance for getting more from Casepoint solutions.

An all-day Learning Lab featured five interactive stations where customers could meet one-on-one with Casepoint experts, see live demonstrations, and receive personalized product guidance.

Between sessions, attendees connected with colleagues and picked up Casepoint swag, including plush versions of Casey, Casepoint's dog mascot.

Five categories celebrated different types of achievement: AI Trailblazer, Government Innovator, Mission Impact, Operational Excellence, and Trusted Partner.

The awards provided an opportunity to recognize customers making meaningful improvements within their organizations.

Congratulations to our 2026 award honorees.
